1. Information We Process
Depending on your role and the services used by your school, Minwal may process:
- Your registered phone number and authentication identifiers.
- User role, school association, and account status.
- Parent, Supervisor, authorized school-user, and student names and identifiers.
- Student grade and parent-child relationships.
- School, bus, route, stop, address, and transportation information.
- Student journey information, including boarding, absence, arrival, drop-off, and related timestamps.
- Push-notification registration information, including device installation identifiers, platform, language, and Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens.
- Notification history and delivery information.
- Support requests, complaints, and information you choose to provide when contacting support.
- Technical and security information generated through Firebase, Google Cloud, and related infrastructure.
2. Authentication
The Minwal mobile app uses phone-number authentication through Firebase Authentication.
Your phone number is used to confirm that you are authorized by your school to use Minwal.
Firebase and Google may also process phone numbers and technical information for authentication, security, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.
Minwal does not store your one-time verification code as part of your account records.
3. Student Information
Schools provide and manage student information used by Minwal.
This may include a student’s name, grade, assigned transportation information, operational locations, and transportation status.
Parents only receive information for students linked to their authorized account.
Supervisors receive only the operational information required for their assigned transportation responsibilities.
4. Location Information
The Minwal mobile app does not request GPS location from a Parent or Supervisor device.
However, Minwal processes operational location information supplied by the school or transportation system, such as:
- School locations
- Bus stops
- Route coordinates
- Student pickup and drop-off locations
- Transportation events associated with known stops
When a Supervisor chooses to open navigation in Google Maps, operational route or stop coordinates may be transferred to Google Maps.
Google Maps may independently request device-location permission under Google’s own services and policies.
5. Notifications
Minwal uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver transportation notifications.
Notifications may include a student’s name and transportation status.
Depending on device settings, notification content may be visible on the device lock screen.
Minwal stores device registration information and may retain notification history for operational and support purposes.
6. Support and Complaints
Parents may submit text-based complaints or problem reports through Minwal.
These reports may include your authenticated account information, phone number, school, message content, timestamps, and resolution status.
Authorized school staff may access these reports to review and resolve them. Supervisors and other authorized users can contact Minwal through the support email or phone number below.
Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information, passwords, or one-time verification codes in support requests.
7. How We Use Information
Minwal processes information to:
- Authenticate and authorize users.
- Provide school transportation services.
- Display linked student information to authorized parents.
- Support Supervisor transportation operations.
- Provide transportation status and activity history.
- Send operational notifications.
- Respond to complaints and technical support requests.
- Protect Minwal against unauthorized access, fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Maintain service reliability and diagnose technical issues.
9. Local Device Storage
The application may store limited information on your device, such as:
- Language preference
- Notification-related installation identifiers
- Notification-permission state
- Firebase authentication state
- Locally cached Firebase data
Some Firebase services may maintain local caches to support application performance and reliability.
10. Data Retention
Minwal retains operational information while a school’s Minwal service is active.
If a school’s subscription or service ends, access to the service may be disabled.
Certain historical, authentication, notification, support, security, administrative, or operational records may remain for a limited period where needed for service closure, security, legal, troubleshooting, or record-keeping purposes.
Minwal does not currently promise immediate deletion of every historical or provider-managed record when operational access is removed.
11. Correction and Deletion Requests
Student, Parent, and Supervisor information is provided and managed through the school. Authorized school and administrative users should use their organization’s administrative contact for account corrections or removal requests.
If you need to:
- Change your registered phone number
- Correct student information
- Change a Parent-student relationship
- Request deletion or removal of school-provided information
please contact your school.
The school can review the request and make supported changes within Minwal. Removing operational access does not necessarily delete historical or authentication records.

12. Security
Minwal uses authenticated access, role-based authorization, school-level data separation, and managed Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure.
We use HTTPS-secured network connections and application-level authorization checks designed to limit access to the information required for each user role.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but Minwal works to maintain reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
13. Children’s Information
Minwal is designed for school-authorized adults.
Children do not create Minwal accounts.
Minwal processes student information only as necessary to provide transportation services to participating schools and authorized users.
Minwal does not use student information for advertising or marketing.
14. Your School’s Role
Your school controls and manages much of the account, student, and transportation information used by Minwal.
Questions about the accuracy, assignment, or removal of school-provided information should therefore be directed to your school first.
